After reading Thriller after Thriller in the past few weeks I was definitely ready for something less creepy and crazy. I was ready for some love and heart. The Girl Behind The Red Door, Cassie Graham’s latest novel, came at the perfect time.
Reed Windsor is single – happily single. And not because there is something wrong with him. He has it all: he is handsome, funny, charming, and talented. He is just not interested in relationships at the moment and very much hung up on someone from his past. He’s just waiting for the right time to tell her.
Charlie Oded has sworn off men. After being left at the altar, she just can’t bear the thought of getting involved with another man any time soon – maybe ever! Not even for Reed Windsor who he makes her heart race for some reason.
While Charlie tries her hardest to guard her heart from another heartbreak, Reed is determined to sweep her off her two feet with his British charm.
The Girl Behind The Red Door is probably one of the sweetest books I’ve read so far this year. Seriously: the story is sweet, the characters are sweet. The only things that weren’t sweet were the conversations because they were sassy and witty. Perfect!
Even though there were a few scenes that were a little too cheesy in my opinion, I enjoyed every minute of this book.
Charlie was a girl after my own heart and I could see myself being friends with her. She was – yes, you guessed it – sweet, loyal, smart, a little bit nerdy, and so kind. Since Charlie is only a year younger than myself I could easily identify myself with her claim of being old. Because that’s what we are! Old! I can already see ourselves binge-watching Supernatural on Friday nights instead of going to a club.
Speaking of Supernatural. I cracked up over all of the SPN references in the book, it was hilarious.
Reed Windsor. Oh boy. What can I possibly say about this British charmer that does him justice? Probably nothing because this guy is the real deal. I’m not even into redheads but I would make an exception for him – oh and for Prince Harry of course.
Reed was definitely not your usual college senior. He was very mature for his age which really impressed me. Even though he was good looking (and he probably knew it), he didn’t go around chasing girl after girl. He was more focused on his college career, his friends and trying to convince Charlie that they were made for each other, that they were perfect.
“You want to know ‘why you’? Because it’s only ever been you.”
What I really enjoyed most about the story was the authenticity. There was no insta-love or instant lusting after the other. Both took their time to get to know the other and because of that their feelings, their trust, and their affection grew slowly but steadily into a real and great relationship with respect and lots of love.
“Where you go, I go.”
I also enjoyed the appearance of a very special character in this book. ❤
The Girl Behind Behind The Red Door is a novel that warms your heart and makes you feel good even after finishing it. It’s a perfect read for a relaxing spring day in the park or to cheer you up after a very crappy day.
“Don’t accept anything less than the best.”

Reed Windsor doesn’t do relationships. Though he could charm
the pants off any girl he wants, he’s not interested. He’s always been too
captivated by a special someone from his past to get serious with anyone else.
Sure, she has no clue he exists, but he’s willing to bide his time and convince
her he’s worth a shot.
will do that to a woman. Having zero time for distractions, she’s not looking
for . . . well, anything. She needs time to heal her heart, not another guy to
string her along. Which is why when she meets the alluring Reed, she’s

the game, and he’s willing to play if she is.
is a born and raised Arizona girl. Her sass knows no bounds and almost always
has something kind to say, no matter the situation. She runs a platform of love
and strives to bring those attributes out in every book she writes.
Cassie studied English and literature in college and has an intense love for
fairytales. Go figure. Though she loves a good fairytale, she promises to
always put her characters through the wringer for that happy ending. She
started writing early in her high school career after an English teacher forced
her to write in a journal. Four years and thirty-something notebooks full of
words later, she found her passion.
Being a hopeless romantic, she found her love for romance after she fell in
love at eighteen. Stories became a lot easier to write after she found her
soulmate. Love exists and she’s blessed enough to live it every day.
If Cassie isn’t shoulder-deep in writing a version of a fairytale, you can find
her front porch sitting with her husband and daughter, eating all the bread,
gossiping with her best friends, visiting Disneyland, supporting strong women,
listening to cheesy music and reading great books by amazing people. She loves
binge watching Supernatural, drooling over Dean, Sam and Cas, and going to
conventions. She also enjoys spreading love any chance she can. So, if you run
into her, give her a hug or a high-five. She guarantees they’re magic.
