The Foxe & the Hound – Shared Review

When my fellow Texan, R.S. Grey, releases a new book, I am always eager to read it. Her books always happen to come out at a great time for me, though when is there a bad time to read a book by her? I know her stories will make me laugh, because they are always witty, fun, and light. The latest release by Grey is no exception. The Foxe & the Hound picks up with Daisy’s best friend, Madeline, from Anything You Can Do. Remember her endearly crappy car? Things haven’t changed much for Madeline, she still has the old beater, her appliances don’t work, and she’s a struggling real estate agent living in tiny rental apartment.

I love when previous characters make an appearance in an author’s new book. It makes me instantly attached to the new story as a reader. This was a wonderful and unexpected surprise because Anything You Can Do was such a fun read for me. Continue reading “The Foxe & the Hound – Shared Review”

Excess Baggage – Review

IMG_9873editedBack in March, when it was still cold and depressing outside, I got an ARC sign-up form from Laura Barnard who was going to release her new book, Excess Baggage, in May. The novel promised to be full of sunshine, summer and old feelings – the perfect getaway from this weather. Now it is May and the weather over here in Germany still hasn’t improved since March. So what was better than turning on your ebook reader and seeing the ARC loading? I couldn’t wait to start with this second chance novel under the sun of Luna Island.

Erica Bennett and her friends are on vacation to have a few days to themselves and away from the hectic and stressful life at home. Erica doesn’t expect to stumble upon Jack Lawson – her first holiday romance back when she was fifteen. It is not long until sparks fly and Erica and Jack rekindle their old feelings. But what happens after their vacation is over? Is their chance meeting a second shot at something real or will this stay another holiday romance? Continue reading “Excess Baggage – Review”

The Foxe & The Hound by R.S. Grey – Cover Reveal

We are so excited to reveal the gorgeous cover of R.S. Grey’s next release, THE FOXE & THE HOUND! This romantic comedy releases June 1st. See the cover and find out more about THE FOXE & THE HOUND below!

About THE FOXE & THE HOUND

When your life is a hot mess at twenty, it’s cute. At twenty-seven…well, not so much.

It’s just that my lofty dreams—making it as a real estate agent, paying rent on time, showering daily—have stayed just that: dreams. Oh, and love? I’ve decided love might be a little ambitious for me at the moment. Instead, I’ve settled for the two guys who will never leave me: Ben & Jerry.

That is, until Dr. Adam Foxe takes up residence as the town’s new vet.

With his strong jaw, easy confidence, and form-fitting scrubs, it’s not long before every housewife in Hamilton is dragging neglected tomcats in for weekly checkups.

Like everyone else, I’m intrigued. Even after I spoil my chance at a good first impression, he still offers me a proposition I can’t refuse: play his girlfriend at a family function and he’ll hire me as his real estate agent. Welcome to love in the 21st century.

It’s too bad I underestimated Adam’s irresistible charm and the undeniable attraction that burns between us. The day he pins me to the wall and silences me with a kiss, the line between reality and ruse begins to blur. Every teasing touch brings me to my knees. Every kiss promises more.

It looks like my hot mess of a life is about to get a little hotter.

The Allure of Dean Harper – Shared Review

IMG_9264editedAfter reading The Allure of Julian Lefray, Ashley and I had to pick up The Allure of Dean Harper immediately. Because what is not to like about a sexy, fun, charming and successful bachelor in New York City?

As a restaurateur in NYC, Dean has opened up many successful restaurants over the past few years. For his new opening, he has his hands full again, which unfortunately has less to do with the new restaurant but more with one of his crew-members: Lily Black, food blogger, culinary school graduate and best friend of his best friend Julian’s girlfriend. With reluctance, Dean had to bring her on board and he is determined to get her off board as soon as possible. But Lily is not easily intimidated. She is hell-bent on showing Dean who the real food-guru is, even if it means war. Continue reading “The Allure of Dean Harper – Shared Review”

The Allure of Julian Lefray- Shared Review

IMG_9259editedCan I just say, I love R.S. Grey?! When life sucks with entirely too much adulting going on (hello, responsibility), Grey’s books are a welcome distraction and escape from reality. Her writing is always fun, easy to get lost in, and witty.

The Allure of Julian Lefray was no exception! I enjoyed being able to buddy read this story with Sabrina and laugh together at the comical one-liners. We both agreed Julian was one of the dreamiest book boyfriends we’ve read of. He has practically no flaws, always thinks of the right thing to do and say, not to mention he’s Josephine’s hunky boss – ding, ding, ding, Jo hit the jackpot!
