When your life is a hot mess at twenty, it’s cute. At twenty-seven…well, not so much.
It’s just that my lofty dreams—making it as a real estate agent, paying rent on time, showering daily—have stayed just that: dreams. Oh, and love? I’ve decided love might be a little ambitious for me at the moment. Instead, I’ve settled for the two guys who will never leave me: Ben & Jerry.
That is, until Dr. Adam Foxe takes up residence as the town’s new vet.
With his strong jaw, easy confidence, and form-fitting scrubs, it’s not long before every housewife in Hamilton is dragging neglected tomcats in for weekly checkups.
Like everyone else, I’m intrigued. Even after I spoil my chance at a good first impression, he still offers me a proposition I can’t refuse: play his girlfriend at a family function and he’ll hire me as his real estate agent. Welcome to love in the 21st century.
It’s too bad I underestimated Adam’s irresistible charm and the undeniable attraction that burns between us. The day he pins me to the wall and silences me with a kiss, the line between reality and ruse begins to blur. Every teasing touch brings me to my knees. Every kiss promises more.
It looks like my hot mess of a life is about to get a little hotter.

It’s time for our monthly recap. Since we have been fairly busy in March (high-five for being responsible adults!), our list of reviews is shorter than usual. We’ll try to get back on track in April. Here is our list for you to catch up:
We have some special blog posts for you in the coming month, so keep an eye on your blog news feed.
And here is our TBR and possible review list for April:

Lots of bookish love,

After reading The Allure of Julian Lefray, Ashley and I had to pick up The Allure of Dean Harper immediately. Because what is not to like about a sexy, fun, charming and successful bachelor in New York City?
As a restaurateur in NYC, Dean has opened up many successful restaurants over the past few years. For his new opening, he has his hands full again, which unfortunately has less to do with the new restaurant but more with one of his crew-members: Lily Black, food blogger, culinary school graduate and best friend of his best friend Julian’s girlfriend. With reluctance, Dean had to bring her on board and he is determined to get her off board as soon as possible. But Lily is not easily intimidated. She is hell-bent on showing Dean who the real food-guru is, even if it means war. Continue reading “The Allure of Dean Harper – Shared Review”
Can I just say, I love R.S. Grey?! When life sucks with entirely too much adulting going on (hello, responsibility), Grey’s books are a welcome distraction and escape from reality. Her writing is always fun, easy to get lost in, and witty.
The Allure of Julian Lefray was no exception! I enjoyed being able to buddy read this story with Sabrina and laugh together at the comical one-liners. We both agreed Julian was one of the dreamiest book boyfriends we’ve read of. He has practically no flaws, always thinks of the right thing to do and say, not to mention he’s Josephine’s hunky boss – ding, ding, ding, Jo hit the jackpot! To me, RS Grey is a genius. She can write about absolutely anything and it’s certainly going to be a success. Her previous works range from soccer and olympic romances, romantic holiday getaways in Italy and an epic roadtrip through Texas. With Anything You Can Do, Grey created another great novel that definitely will join her other successful ones. This book is not her first romantic comedy but the first one for me.
The story features Daisy and Lucas, nemeses ever since they were born. Now, at 28, they are both successful doctors and seize a chance in taking over a private practice in their hometown of Hamilton, Texas. As far as Daisy is concerned, Lucas is not part of the plan. She wants to take over the practice all by herself and is willing to do everything to make Lucas leave the practice and Hamilton for good. And Lucas? Well, he has his own little devious plan.
